CEMEX Deploys Saba to Improve Workforce Performance

Flexibility of Saba Learning Suite Helps Double Access to Training Across 24 Countries

Redwood Shores, Calif., February 13, 2006 — Saba (NASDAQ: SABA), the premier Human Capital Management (HCM) software and services provider, today announced that CEMEX, a global building solutions company, has implemented Saba Learning Suite as the centerpiece of its company-wide learning model, called CEMEX Learning.

CEMEX is a global building solutions company that provides quality cement and ready-mix concrete products to customers and communities in more than 50 countries throughout the world. Training is critical to ensure that all CEMEX operations maintain the company’s high standards for product and service delivery. As part of a company-wide program to leverage digital technology to standardize and automate processes, CEMEX introduced e-learning. By implementing Saba as part of its e-learning rollout, CEMEX has been able to effectively deliver the same training that it once delivered in classroom courses, in up to 60 percent less time and at a significantly reduced cost.

“The CEMEX Learning initiative was designed to make the best use of technology to improve our global learning management processes,” said Samuel Kaswan, Learning Manager, Organization and Human Resources CEMEX. “At CEMEX, e-learning plays a key role in realizing the vision of a single, global company and Saba is at the core of this. Saba helps us guide employees by providing course recommendations based on skills gaps and lets them easily view training options and availability.”

CEMEX has deployed Saba in English and Spanish to more than 8,300 users across 24 countries at almost every level of the organization, allowing the company to deliver consistent training worldwide and minimize duplicate training efforts. The company is also reaching more people; CEMEX has more than doubled the number of employees trained since implementing Saba.

CEMEX relies on Saba to ensure that its globally distributed operations have training requirements that are both localized and properly aligned with overall corporate strategy. To help employees reach their professional development goals, CEMEX utilizes Saba’s prescriptive learning capabilities to assign and track development plans.

“The continued global excellence of CEMEX and its people is no accident. Hats off to CEMEX for strategically improving the skills and performance of its workforce,” said Juan Cuadros, vice president of Saba Latin America. “We are proud to provide robust and flexible solutions that support the learning requirements of global organizations like CEMEX that have geographically and culturally distributed workforces.”

All web-based training at CEMEX is managed by Saba. Additionally, CEMEX uses Saba to help manage learning beyond conventional e-learning functions such as classroom based training, scholarships, degrees, other external education and on-the-job training. CEMEX intends to expand access to Saba Learning to people in more than 50 countries around the world.
